Cold-rolled sheet and coil for precision forming and visible components. Compare thickness, forming grade, surface finish and protective oiling.

Cold-rolled sheet and coil are used where dimensions and surface condition matter; agree finish and processing requirements.

Appliance panels, formed components and selected automotive or general engineering parts. Drawing severity, visible-surface requirements and downstream coating determine the specification.

Cold-rolled sheet and coil Technical and buying guide

Cold-rolled sheet and coil for precision forming and visible components. Compare thickness, forming grade, surface finish and protective oiling.

Specification and dimensions

State thickness × width, coil or cut-sheet form, surface quality and finish, oiling or dry delivery, edge condition and coil limits. Example thicknesses are 0.4 to 3 mm; confirm the ordered grade and dimensional tolerance scope.

Grades and applicable standards

For uncoated low-carbon forming steel, specify DC01 or DC04 to EN 10130 and the applicable EN 10131 dimensional and shape tolerances. If a JIS grade is requested, state the complete JIS G 3141 designation separately; grade equivalence must be technically agreed.

Applications and project requirements

Appliance panels, formed components and selected automotive or general engineering parts. Drawing severity, visible-surface requirements and downstream coating determine the specification.

Inspection and traceability

Agree heat or batch identification, chemical analysis, applicable tests and dimensional checks before ordering. Specify inspection documents, acceptance criteria and any independent inspection requirements.

Sizes, weights and quotation guidance

Dimensions are examples for preparing an enquiry, not a declared stock range. Calculated weights are theoretical; mill limits, rolling tolerances and the agreed weighing basis govern the order.

Frequently asked questions

Does an example mean immediate availability?

No. Examples are enquiry references; stock and delivery must be confirmed for the complete specification.

Can a different grade or standard be substituted?

Only after the proposed material and the project requirements have been technically reviewed.
